Search competition in Syria is real but far smaller than in Dubai or Europe — and a lot of businesses have not done the basics. That is an opportunity, but agencies are catching on fast, so the useful time to act is now.
Treat SEO as engineering, not guesswork
Start with a technical audit and a prioritised fix list. The foundation:
- One clear job per page. A single page cannot rank for twenty different searches. "Software company Syria", "mobile app development Syria" and "ERP Syria" each need their own page with its own title and its own content.
- Real titles and descriptions — specific to the page, matching how people actually search, not "Home" and "Welcome to our website".
- Structured data (Schema.org) so Google understands what the page is — a service, an article, a product, a business.
- Speed. Slow sites rank worse and convert worse. Core Web Vitals are measurable; fix them.
- Correct bilingual setup — separate Arabic and English URLs with
hreflang, so the versions do not compete.
Arabic is the bigger opportunity
Most effort goes into English terms. But your customers search in Arabic: "شركة برمجة في سوريا", "تصميم مواقع دمشق", "برمجة تطبيقات". Do Arabic keyword research properly and write natural Arabic content around it — not a translation of the English page.
Content that competitors cannot fake
Do not write "we are the best software company". Write what you actually did: the project, the stack, the problem, the result, with links to the live work. Proof is the one thing a competitor cannot copy, and it is exactly what Google's guidance now rewards.
Measure it
Connect Google Search Console. After a month, look for searches where you rank on page one or two. Those are the easy wins — improve those specific pages, and track each keyword's position over time. SEO becomes a measurable process, not "we added some articles".
This is what our SEO service does, on the sites we build and on sites we did not.
